TODAY'S MEDITATION
The conceit of physical practice is that it is all vanity, to keep up appearances. Perhaps also, to sustain this brief flicker of health, this moment of the body.
But also: the masculine “doing” of my daily yogic practice prepares the way for what is sometimes understood as the feminine surrender. My posture and my angles, my stretching and my movements —all of this in service to something much deeper than fitness, vanity, health (but all of that too!): I "do" this practice to open my body-mind to all of Her flows. And especially those that I resist, those that are an eternal conundrum to my masculine desire for order and stillness.
